The Cat Is *Not* Out Of The Bag

Breakfast today was pizza bread!! I mentioned it to okaa-san the other day and she lost her shit (out of excitement), so today it made its debut in the house. I asked her about it and apparently she used to make it a lot for her son when he was in high school, and now I’ve revived it. It was a jazzy veg pizza and I was diggin’ it, in addition to my pineapple, ham-wrapped asparagus, yuzucha and lychee juice. Hella great start to the day, paired with the fact that I got to go in late for just an hour of Japanese class!

‘Why just one hour of Japanese?’ came no one’s voice in the distance. Well, non-existent inquirer, let me tell you. Today we had Kansai-ben class round 2, which ate up an hour of lunch time, so they gave us a break. It was both rough and fun, and I will say I much more appreciate the Kansai-ben honorific and permission system vs standard nihongo, but still strange stuff. Afterwards was my joint seminar, in which we discussed media depictions of the American family to Doshisha students. My brief presentation was on That 70’s Show, and I showed a clip where Eric & pals were getting disciplined while high. Great view of America, I know. I couldn’t keep from laughing during it (I showed from 1:40 – 2:30ish), so that was a ride.

Came home to homework and friend chats, which was nice. Everyone at home was in the mood to pick up Miao-chan today, a fact which she did not appreciate. Otou-san even crawled under the table to get her once, where she was swiftly passed off to okaa-san to be cuddled until she squirmed the hell outta that. So cute!

This was dessert tonight, fluff cake was yummy. Now I’m working on an essay and exchanging lip sync videos with amigos – oyasuminasai!
